Fostering

Why should I foster a dog?
Why should I foster a dog? Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. By taking a dog in need temporarily into your home you are:
• saving a life.
• giving your foster dog the time he needs to be ready for adoption.
• helping our rescue learn more about the dog so he/she can find the best home possible.
• helping the dog learn how to live in a home environment.
• socialization with other people and animals.
What does fostering a dog involve?
When you foster, you agree to take a homeless dog into your home and give them shelter, food, love, and care until the dog is adopted. Bailey’s Way Rescue pays for medical care and will provide monthly heartworm and flea preventative. Some other possible involvement may include:
• transport the dog to and from veterinarian appointments
• transport the dog to and from adoption events
• bring the dog to a pre-approved adoption home visit/meet & greet (based around the parties’ schedules)
Why does Bailey’s Way Rescue, Inc. need foster homes?
Bailey’s Way Rescue does not have a physical shelter or facility, so we depend on foster homes to care for our dogs until their perfect forever homes are found.
How do I sign up to foster a dog?
Submit a foster application and, if you are approved, we will work with you on finding the right foster dog for your household.
